In my quest to keep learning I experiment a lot. Here is Speed light experiments with apples (and bananas). What do you think? Do any of the lighting experiments work for you? You can download these for best viewing.

I like the first three. I do not do much with flash, so take that into consideration, but would suggest lighting these shots with two flashes, one from each side to open the shadows a bit more.

GW, I think you say that because of the high contrast going on in that one. Thanks for your input.

Thanks JFCoupe for your input. Just FYI #5 & 7 were both lit with two speed lights. I had other photos of the heart series with two flashs but did not include them. I didn't like the outcome so I didn't include them. When I try to use the speed lights, I try not to make it obvious that I used them. I try to make it look like natural light.

Thanks doc for your vote on these photos. By looking at your choices I would say that you like a lot of contrast in the pics.

Yeah, I get it.........it seems like each photographer has their own different things about photos. I have found that quite often in landscapes I have the horrizon line up high........it's just something that I prefer, just like you like high contrast.
