I was gathering wood for the wood stove this afternoon and this guy was in the stack. I thought I would Stack some images of him before finding a location for him to Winter over. I am just glad I spotted him in the layers of wood before tossing it in the stove.
Enjoy.

Great stack. Impressive. Are you using Helicon or PS for your stacking? I've used PSCC for stacking but find it cumbersome. Helicon in my opinion is much better. I've had some critters in my flower beds like this one all summer. Now that the temps are in the 20's they've disappeared. Wonder where they go. Anyways, your image is excellent.

Really good, how many shots stacked? It is one of the things on my "learn to do" list.

Thanks for the comment. I use Zerene Stacker. I find it easier and quicker to use than PS as well. It is also more accurate and processes the images faster. As a matter-of-fact, I don't use PS hardly at all any more. There are better options on the market.

I believe this particular one is a 12 shot. It's fun, though it can be a bit tedious if a subject moves. You have to start the stack all over again.

This was a second year male. Happy to see you noticed the details and color.

I saw a demo in which the photographer set his camera for all manual, including focus. Then handheld he focused on the front edge of a pocket watch on a table and with the shutter on burst just moved the camera in slowly as it ran. He had two speed lights on remote control at reduced output. Then he loaded the sequence into PS CC2015 and set it to do an automatic stack. The software aligned, resized, stacked and blended 15 shots all by itself it just a short time. It wasn't perfect, had one blurred spot on the watch on the winding stem. But it was fast and impressive to see how he did that
