Wow REJ these are some really nice shots. Good lighting and detail. Your first is a male Halloween Pennant (Celithemis eponina) and the second would not be an easy one to identify but it's a female Ruby Meadowhawk (Sympetrum rubicundulum).
Coming from your area I can be fairly certain of that. If it were down here it would have to be examined under a microscope as we are having a little controversy over Sympetrum species.

Females can be tough. To identify that is REJ. You'll get it.
