I have one and really like it too, though I presently have a bum leg and can't get around very well. When it has healed up, I'll be out collecting images to post.

I have the full frame equivalent, the Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 II - basically the same field of view. You have to readjust your frame of reference when using a super-wide lens. Of course, it didn't cost $179.99. I'm almost tempted to get one for the the 7D MK II, but it would be redundant - and I'd rather look at the 100-400mm MK II at the long end of the spectrum.

Yeah, I'm anxious to try it out. I'm sure it's gonna take some getting used to. That 16-35 2.8 is an awesome lens, you surely are a great photographer and i always enjoy your posts.

The 100-400 II is no doubt a fine lens also as is all of of Canon's upper end line, but i guess on my budget I'll just have to stick to the less expensive gear.

I love my 10-18mm IMHO it's the best bang for the buck since the nifty fifty. My only minor complaint is that it's not the brightest lens! (4.5 - 5.6), but in decent light it's outstanding! (Has IS that kinda makes up a little for the small f-stop)

I currently own a Sigma 10-20 and it is an excellent lens, but I would get this in a second. Good Luck.

Well crap. I just bought one of these refurbed lenses a few weeks ago when they offered a 10% discount off the $239.99 price. Wound up paying $204 plus tax. Could have saved another $24. Next time I will wait for a better deal to come along or not get it at all.

I have one and carry it all the time. Awesome for Landscape and street scenes on a crop sensor

Great bang for the buck to get decent wide angle capability on a crop sensor.

How much are they normally in the US?
Usually we pay a lot more in the UK and currently this lens is £180 and Canon are offering a £20 rebate which makes it unbeatable for performance and price. There are several used ones on EBay which are surprisingly as much or more than a new one!!!

I got one last week and had some good weather finally on Sunday when I went out to test it. Some of my results and observations are here:
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-351283-1.html

I did look at the Canon 10-22mm and Tamron 10-24mm but the 10-18mm wins hands down on weight which means I am more likely to carry it with me.

Another bonus is that it has image stabilization - which most other UWA lens don't appear to and a silent auto focus making it excellent for video.

A constant quibble I have with Canon is that all lens need a lens hood at some time and Canon expects the customer to pay more (and inflated price) for one.
P don't mind waiting a few weeks to get one from Hong Kong or China for a small fraction of the Canon price.
