I want to get into the Drone flying with my GoPro Hero 4 black
I've scanned lots of website to purchase a drone. But see lots of horror stories about fly aways, camera vibrations and other problems, Any suggestions for a Drone around the 600 dollar range?

I have a DJI Phantom 1.1.1 that I got from B&H. I use a camera similar to the Go-Pro on it and works fine.
The DJI drones are easy to fly and have some nice features to them. They use GPS via satellites, when you let go of the controls they stay where they are, very easy to fly and control.
Go to B&H web site and check them out, I'm sure they will have something in your price range.

will

If he shoots it down, call the Feds. That's a federal offense. :D

That's one thing that's held me back. Also, if it develops a problem and crashes, will you be able to find it? I think most of them have a "Return Home" mode - if it works.

Wrong info. It is a (sometime) local law not to discharge a firearm within city limits.

I had a visit from a cop two years ago because I was shooting tree rats. When he discovered I was using an air gun he said 'Go right ahead' there is no law against THAT. Damned thing is powerful enough to kill a tree rat at 100 yards so a drone hovering or passing through? NO PROBLEM.

'Just be careful' he added.

Season is open...

The fact that they are now selling shot gun shells specifically designed to shot down drones should tell you something. It is my understanding that the feds are working towards developing regulations governing drones, including registration. Desert sounds like a good place to fly, just don't go near area 51 or 52. On second thought fly it near, could be lots of fun to see what happens.

Almost enough of a reason to get one. It would be interesting to see how the court system treated whatever you have in mind, which no doubt wouldn't be nice.

As you said - "Wong info." It is a federal crime to shoot down aircraft, and that's exactly what drones are.

Location, location, location.

Portland ordinance:
"Firearm: a pistol, revolver, gun, rifle, or other mechanism, including a miniature weapon, which projects a missile or shot by force of gunpowder or any other explosive, by spring or by compressed air."

So keep your tree rat hate mongering and your BB gun out of Portland.

Now, back to drones, please?
