That is a nice picture. Without the title, without knowing who the photographer is, that is a
very nice picture.
But it is more than that, and it is a little hard to explain. I take a lot of "people pictures", often of children and some of those are teenage children. Such pictures can target different viewers. Other children at the same age look for one thing, while images taken as "stock photos" would be different.
Most of my photography is aimed at a child's mother.
Your image captures everything that I ever aim for in a picture made for Mom! That is an image that should always be shown with a title, and it should always indicate that it's Mom's picture.
Just a few days ago the Barrow High School Band, which incidentally last spring played at Carnegie Hall, had an annual event they call "Sweet Suites" where they feed nearly pure sugar to the audience and perform not as an orchestra, but as individuals and small groups. I have photographed it every year for many years now. Your picture just stood out as precisely the type of image I've strived for every time.
It fits my mental model of perfection!
Thank you so much for your comments! :)
