Frankenfield Covered Bridge is located at Hollow Horn and Cafferty Rds. in Tinicum Twp. The two span structure was built in 1872 by David Sutton utilizing the Town Truss and is painted red. It is 130 ft. long and 12 ft. wide, making it the longest of the used bridges in the county. There is a small nameplate on the bridge listing its date of construction, length and height. The bridge crosses Tinicum Creek only upstream from where the the creek flows into the Delaware River. This area has been known for its abundance of turtles. Stories are that leeches were collected here in Colonial times and sold to Philadelphia doctors for blood-letting.

Found your series (been busy the past while with Thomas the Tank Engine at the railway museum 7th - 18th.
I like the series, esp the bits of history.

My mother was from Houtzdale in Clearfield County. I have a pile of cousins there and all over PA, haven't talked to any of them in many years.
I lived in York the year I was in 8th grade.

I'd rather look at a blue heron than a turtle or especially a leech!

I've never done a Bucks County covered bridge tour but I've done a Chester County covered bridge tour on my motorcycle. Must do Bucks County next year...

Nice shots, Sue. I suspect that GBH is also on the lookout for turtles and leeches!
