Frankenfield Bridge was build in 1872 and is 130 feet long. It crosses Tinicum Creek two mile upstream from teh point at which the creek empties into the Delaware River.
This was a disappointment 'cause it was being worked on. The road was closed, but we went down it anyway, but couldn't get close. Wish we could've walked through it. :(

That's positive thinking, Carol! LOL Thanks for checking it out and replying!
Thanks, Erv! It was so much fun, and the weather and fall foliage were perfect!
Just a little further note about Frankenfield Bridge...the info. says that the area is known for it's abundance of turtles, and that stories are told that leeches were collected here in Colonial times and sold to Philadelphia doctors for blood letting. We didn't see any turtles or leeches, but here's a blue heron that we did see.
Sue, I enjoyed the tour right down to the blue heron!!
:-D
I wish we had covered bridges in the South! Nice work sailorsmom!
Thanks Angela! So glad you're enjoying them!
Thanks so much, Moxie! If we didn't have them, I'd be tempted to travel and find some! I hear IN has a ton of them!
