obviously they are perfectly exposed as determined by the photographer. They are underexposed in your opinion but not the in the opinion of the photographer who took them. And if the photographer thinks that the exposure is right it is right.

What a load of BS that is. They are underexposed no matter who looks at them. Exposure is exposure and you can't wish them good exposure. One can say that they wanted to take an average snapshot as any tourist can take, but you can't wish it into proper exposure.
