You not only can take a camera, but you can also take a drink if you purchase it from the wheelhouse (providing you can hold both for 30 minutes) LOL Stake out the spot to your immediate right when you enter the pod - you'll have the best Strip views at the highest point on the ride. Depending on how full the pod is (it can hold 40 people) you may not have room for a tripod. Looking forward to seeing photos.
Thanks Sienarose46, I can hold the camera for 30 minutes, the drink will be gone in less than 5 minutes!

Never had any problems using a tripod around the wheel.
As I stated, when they realized I was not a pro photographer they were willing to allow me to use a tripod but by the time they had given me permission I had all the photos I wanted anyway.

Most tight spaces will not allow the use of a tripod. However, with A high ISO setting and decently fast lens, I can't see where one would be needed! Best of luck!
I have taken lots of pictures of it, inside and out, and never had a problem except I had to check my tripod before riding the wheel, but that was not a problem. I can see it and the whole strip from my roof.
I did the ride in Vegas - at night. One revolution is 45 minutes. I brought and used my Canon 5DII and my Lumix 40. Forget flash. I cleaned some of the better glass areas, but there are other people on the ride too, most seemed to move around so you could get to different angles and views. Yes, a number of photos were blurry. So try again - 45 minutes in a big "glass" ball.
