I have been looking for a deal on a D7100 to replace my ageing D5100 for some time now. Last week I saw that Adorama had dropped the price of factory refurbished D7100 bodies to 549.00.... I almost ordered one at that point. I checked again tonight and they had dropped the price to 499.00. I placed my order... I have several older Nikormat lenses that should be able to make use of the 7100's additional capabilities. With the 5100 they were manual focus only...

I've had mine about a year and I am still learning it's different capabilities. David Busch's book, Nikon D7100 has been invaluable.

Just make sure the old Nikon lenses you have are Ais lenses and not the older skirted non Ai lenses. Those should be avoided as they can damage the D7100 and all Nikon Digital cameras.

The Df will accept and use pre-AI lenses. The metering coupler is designed to be flipped up out of the way when using the older lenses.

Try Cameta Camera (online) - they seem to specialize in Nikon Refurbs

Eric H I stand corrected. I checked my D7000 does not have the lever Ai lens would crush. My D90 has such a leaver that would be damaged from mounting a Non Ai lens. I will have to review this.

They are currently asking 579.00... I bought mine at Adorama for 499.00.

a while back I purchased a Nikon AF FX NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D. for about a hundred bucks. From what I understand this should work well with the 7100 & give me about a 35mm equivalent. (I think....)
