We took a ride yesterday in the foothills of the Sierras and stumbled across a little multi layered waterfall. This was a zoom of a much larger scene, but I kind of liked it. After playing with both color and B&W, I thought I'd see what others like the best.

Nice spotting on the small waterfall, and I really like the composition of how you isolated it. I really like the color best.

For the color I would like to see it cropped above the brown spot. In that version it competes with the water.

So as posted I like the black and white. With the crop on the color one it would be a toss up.

You did a great job with the capture.

Thank you, I tried the crop where you suggested, and I do like it as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

The b&w is nice, but the wonderful, dominant blue/brown tones throughout in the color version brings the scene to life!

Color for this one, although b&w works better for some scenes, this one in my opinion is better in color.

Because of the interesting textures and tones of the rocks, I prefer the color. The crop of foreground rock is a good suggestion.

I think there are possibilities with the b&w, but it needs to be lighter and more gently done. If you're interested in posting a downloadable color version to the pp forum, I and probably a few other folks would enjoy working with it a bit to produce a b&w alternative.

Both are excellent, but I have to go with the color photo.
