Ad Banners on UHH

I was wondering about the source of advertising banners on UHH. Are these checked by anyone on the site to make sure they are on the up and up? The reason I am asking is there is one currently popping up in the threads with a very low price on the Nikon D750 (see below)

"Buy Nikon D750 $1139
Blow Out Sale On Nikon D750 Camera Limited Time Offer Free Shipping"

The link takes you to TheDigitalPros.com

I know that a lot of sites sell grey market cameras with no US warranty and was wondering if anyone knew of this company.

If your computer is like mine, all advertising is based on what YOU have been doing searches on. So, if you were searching for prices on the D750, then you'll more than likely see an ad for it from anywhere.

I hate that function of my computer! Ughh.

I was wondering about the source of advertising ba... (show quote)

One thing to familiarize yourself with is the search function (second line from the top on the header)
Just one of the many threads on the Digital Pros here:

If the price is too good to be true, turn the other way.

Google advertisement services controls UHH's.

When you signup with services like it, this you get: whatever. It is a mean to get revenue for supporting the website and traffic as well as in a few cases, get some revenues.

The result is that we can complain all we want it would not not make any difference other than shutting down this site if there is no way to pay for its support other than using subscription fees...

I don't see those ads. I would recommend AdBlock Pro.
It's free

Thanks all. I don't mind having ads that support the site, but was just wondering they were vetted at all. It sounds like they are not and this ad is definitely too good to be true.

I never pay attention to ad banners. Either on UHH or anywhere else. Over the years, I've learned to tune them out when viewing webpages. And I certainly never click on ads, other than by accident. If I'm interested in a particular product or service, I conduct my own online research for prices and deals.

I have my browser settings set to clear the cache and delete all cookies every time I close it down. Doesn't beat all ads but certainly keeps them less intrusive.

I use a browser named "Adblocker" which does just what it says.

Phil, I would call them and ask if you want to buy one. Be careful when they tell you it has a warranty. The question is it a USA Nikon Warranty. The issue is USA Product with USA Nikon Warranty. Old story, if its to good to believe watch out.
