A few flowers to look at.

tammytam! In the meantime, look at lots of flower mags, etc., to see what the trends are in flower photography - shoot lots of flowers with different types of backgrounds - make sure that whatever kind of flower that you shoot, the flowers stand out, and are sharp or soft, depending on the mood that you're trying to create. You've gotten an awfully good start - what you've shown us are very nice! Good luck with your endeavors!

#1 for me changing the background to b&w takes away from the flower itself - because the contrast and the obviousness of what you did distracts.

#2 nice, simple, elegant, and out of focus - i would for sure want the tip to be in focus (and watch for little details like that white streak at the top)

#3. The background somehow became the subject and the flower became a prop - pay attention to these kinds of details and keep playing around!
