Eyes of a Raptor

This Red Shouldered Hawk decided to land on my back fence.
What's interesting is I had just grabbed my Camera and put on the Tamron 150-600mm Lens and when out to the yard.
I thought I was just going to practice zooming on near and far objects and there he was in the field of view.
The eyes were so penetrating I decided to post a few shots.
Pleases use the Download to get the full effect.
Nikon D800E w/Tamron 150-600mm @ 460mm, f/6.3, 1/100 sec, ISO 200.
PP in Lightroom, just some slight Adjustments and heavy Cropping.

Very nice Craig!! Do these come into your yard all the time? And you are right about the eyes.

Thank you very much Erv. they, the pair, come into a huge Oak Tree in our yard often but are really hard to see up through the canopy.
That's why they are so difficult to shot. Today he landed on the fence. It was just a premonition and luck to get him on film.

Good shots, Craig! I can best see the penetrating eyes in #1. Too bad that branch was there!

Thank you very much Sue, I kind of like the branch it adds a sense of mystique. The predator in hiding.

Thank you very much Angler. It was a shoot of brief opportunity.
He was only on the fence for 1 1/2 min.
