I am required to scan a copy of my drivers license to a stock photo agency. I put the license on the printer (HP6700) and tell it I want to scan a document.. Does a good job, however I can not find the scan and it gives me no option to send it to documents or whereever I want. I have checked documents, photo's etc. and no DL and no option to tell the scan where I want to put it. But when the scanning is done, it shows me what was scanned and that is it. I can't locate it. What do I do?

Go to your computer and search for files by date.
May or may not help.
I scan from a picture editing program of which
there are several. They ask where you want the scan.
Works with photos to.

Do it again. When the scan appears on your screen, use the snipping tool (assuming you're using Windows) to make yourself a copy and save it.

When it shows you the scan at the end of the process, can you see what the file name is somewhere on the page?.....if so just use the PC's search feature to find the file location.
....if not search in "documents" and sub folders.....should be there somewhere ! :)

It shows nothing but a photo of the file scanned. Looks good.

You said it "does a good job", so obviously you have viewed the scan. Where was it when you viewed it?

It showed me what was scanned but no way to save it with a name or location.

Then you should have been able to right-click that image and designate a save procedure in most cases. Have you read the manual and set up your "Save" setting on the scanner?

All I can suggest is go to page 38 in your manual and complete the setup instructions, it details what you MUST do in order to save scans to your computer. If you do not set it up properly you will not be able to save the scans.

I've never had a scanner that wouldn't save the result of a scan somewhere......but have had many scanners which do exactly as described by will47.....which is a pain in the patuti if you ask me !

My scanner works with or without a computer attached.
But it is quite difficult to save a scan with out a
computer attached. Make that impossible to save without.
