In a thread a few days ago we were speculating as to differences in the Costco "special edition" of PSE 14 as opposed to that sold directly by Adobe or by other vendors. I received mine in the mail yesterday and have found three differences.
1. The box is labeled "Special Edition, print directly to Costco 1 hour photo from Photoshop Elements."
2. 50 free 4X6 prints by Costco are included.
3. It can be downloaded instead of installed from the disc by going to:
http://adobe.com/go/pse-costco (I'm not sure if this is unique to the Costco version).
Thus far I've not found anything negative about the Costco version, such as missing features, but I haven't used it yet.

I suspect one of the requirements for discovering missing funtionality is that you start it up.

The software will be identical. The Costco special editions are nothing more than a slight repackaging, a few extra small benefits, as you've noticed, and special pricing. That's it.

Earlier ones included another disc with some stuff on it; e.g. a scrapbooking program.

I have started it up and cruised through the menus, etc. but not processed anything yet.

Right, but the actual Photoshop Elements program is identical. The difference as I pointed out were the packaging. the extras, and the pricing.
Watch for Black Friday special pricing. It seems to be promoted every year. Love Costco.

It's $40 at Costco as we type, until the end of November.

I just got mine three days ago after going from Costco to Costco the past week in my region--all had sold out. Got a rain check and was promised that the next delivery would be 11 November. However, I was passing another Costco while traveling and found three copies on the rack. Got one.
I installed the program, moved over my catalogs from PS10 and am deep into the post processing of our month-long Ireland trip. From two long days of working with this Costco-purchased PS14, I think is has all the bells and whistles I anticipated.
Cheers,
Earl

I guess it is one of the beni's of that yearly fee.
It is out of stock. I tried about 8:30 EST. :-(
I just purchased from BuyDepot.net for $50.99, free shipping, since Costco was out.
