Union Pacific Red River Railroad Bridge

If you follow U.S. Route 75 from Texas to Oklahoma you will pass parallel to this structure as you cross the Red river. Notice the 3rd girder span. It's different from the others due to a massive derailment that destroyed the original structure and caused several rail cars to fall into the river. I've included a shot of the remains of one of the cars. This is all according to a Union Pacific employee who was there when I stopped to shoot the bridge. He was part of a crew doing track maintenance.

Thanks much.... I actually studied Photojournalism in the mid 70's but then took 40+ year hiatus... Just trying to get a bit of a handle on it myself.... I really love these older railroad trestles.... Tons (literally :) ) of character!
