If you're interested, there's video on Netflix 'World War I from the Air' (or something like that) of aerial photos taken in late 1918 o 1919 by a young French photographer. Amazing, and lost for years. Rediscovered and cleaned up, incredible scenes of the destruction and damage endured by the cities and towns.

The film was shown to the daughter of the photographer, who'd lost her father when she was very young. She'd never known he'd done this, and was in tears seeing his work. Worth watching.
