Coral in living room

A had my little living room table top studio set up to photograph something else to show a friend. But I just thought about what I might photograph that I do not believe I had before. I thought of a piece of Coral I had. So I brought that out. Tried a bit of dramatic lighting with one CFL lamp and a white card reflector to attempt to light fill the dark side. Wow, white Coral, I got a number of hot spots on the lit side. Probably try it again in different (flatter) light. Also the DOF needed is pretty extreme.

A short while after my initial post here I edited this adding two new images. This was shot during the day time using window light and a white reflector. This time I used the timer and weighted down the tripod to stabilize the camera from shake even more. Also lit from the opposite side. This was shot at f/16 as well. I could go to f/32 but I worry about diffraction after around f/8. Whatever is within the DOF should be sharp, though the object does have a "depth" of near 3.5 cm. I also manually focused this second try.

Another issue about the first image. I realized that I had left the camera set to some odd Shooting Mode, "Reversal Film" like, so the colors in the shots I made last night were a bit odd. Something seemed off and I was not sure why. I partially corrected it with Ps CS6 ACR but it still was too yellow. That never seems to happen when I correct a WB mis-set, but this was something more that actually affected a RAW file. But now the whites are white (on my monitor anyway).
