Nice shots. I like the ambient lighting. I am looking forward to their winter return to Florida.

Just never thought of Pelicans in Oklahoma. I wonder if you can herd them?

For me, it's the subtle colors that make these outstanding shots.

Thanks.... Simultaneously graceful and ungainly... Ancestral dino. DNA for sure.... The only place I think you can find them year round is the Corpus Christi area on the Texas coast. Looks like the only place you can't find them in the U.S. is the Northern / Atlantic region. Their only habitat on the Atlantic IS Florida which they seem to love....

Amazing water fowl... Kings & Queens of the pond on Lake o' the Cherokee's.... The Cormorants have gotten to the point where they push everyone else out of an area when they show up (even the Canadian Geese) except for these guys and gals... Nobody pushes them around...

I've approached their brethren in Florida and around Corpus Christi who appeared pretty indifferent towards humans. These were much more on the 'wild' side but would let you approach them if you moved in slowly...

Thanks much.... Initially I overlooked these shots.... It was only on the second go round that I realised that they might have potential...
