Chinas current population is 1.4 billion people. The population of the U.S. is currently 322 million people. China has one billion more people than the U.S., despite both countries occupying approximately the same size geographical areas
Its pretty crowded! I decided to post some photos of diverse people we encountered during a trip. **Chinese citizens had been restricted to having only a single child per family for many years. Last week, Oct 2015, the law was changed which now allows two children per family
Very nice work, I have visited may times but am always a little to shy to ask people to pose, have to get over it.

Thanks. Yes, most are very friendly and cooperative with American tourists.

Thanks. Lots of choices with a "thousand million" people!

Thanks. Like Dorothy, I could immediately tell I wasn't in Kansas (or Utah) anymore.
Excellent captures Redrock. What cruise or tour were you on?

I can tell from your question that you're probably an alumni. As you know, China is extremely difficult to maneuver by yourself; so we chose to go on a Viking River Cruise. Worked out well. Saw much that we never would have seen if trying to go-it alone, as we usually do. I'd recommend them.

Thanks...I'd be more serious about it if I were there now.

Yes, we did a Regent cruise Bejing to Hong Kong and internal flight/land tour to Xian. So many of your photos are such familiar subjects. I loved it and will go back soon. Such an interesting country and people. They do love their children and most seem quite happy and content. There were only two things I didn't like: the Bejing and Shanghai smog, and the chicken toes which you captured so diligently ! Excellent photos all.
