Just got off a call wanting to know if I wanted to photograph the president. I explained that I didn't want to fight the crowd and I only like to photograph things I like. The silence on the other end was deafening. I think I just insulted the caller because all I heard after that was a click. the president is in Charleston Wv today to talk about the increase in drug abuse. What can you expect when all the coal mines are closing down because of him and the EPA. When people get into this much despair they naturally turn to drugs. Ok let me have it on how wicked coal is.

If it were not for coal, there would be no crime!

My Grandfather worked in the Kentucky coal mines his entire life.

We are experiencing a paradigm shift in energy production. Right now coal and its production can be compared to horses at the turn of the 20th Century. There were literally tens of thousands of blacksmiths and livery owners before the rise of the automobile turned many of them into mechanics.

How do you propose we make China adhere to these new standards? If they are not on board it will be a waste of our time and resources.

That doesn’t matter as long as they can pat themselves on the back and feel good about themselves.

The millions of tons of ore needed across the country to keep the lights on, isn't going any where. It is necessary for the production of electricity.

China is already on board and running a massive advertising campaign to educate it's citizens on the necessity of cleaning up it's atmosphere. But as coal is essential in China it will take some years to accomplish.

As China moves from socialism towards capitalism the standard of living is rising moving more Chinese from Bicycles to Motor Scooters, and from Motor Scooters to Cars. This increase in the need for and use of Hydrocarbon fuel is in part the blame for the pollution. Read up a little on US history in the early part of last century and find that in many cities in the US pollution was so bad you could not see the Sun. It took us a hundred years to get to where we are today, hopefully with our experience in pollution control we can speed up the process in China. Any Entrepreneurs out there willing to do a Startup in China.
