Bought a Sony a6000 love it but... Was using it then would not recognise that the 50mm 1.8 lens was attached tried with another lens the 16-50mm same thing, would not show any aperture info. Took it to camera store they seen it for themselves (they then proceeded to do a full restore without my knowledge which I will now have to reinstall all previous apps and firmwares for bugger me) so I then took it to Sony to have a look, damn thing worked fine hopefully when they test it, it will play up for them to see for themselves I have not received it back yet. If anyone has had the same issue was it fixed successfully if it does happen to you get a video of it so you can record it to show them I should have done this at least they then could see it happen.

Need translation on middle part of post. Sorry!
Sounds like they repaired it and just told you it worked fine for them. Happens rather than admit any fault in product.
It sounds like dirty contacts on the lens.
I have the same lenses on my a6000 and have never had a problem. I also updated the firmware but I think I used the 50mm even before I updated and never had an issue. may be something wrong with the camera? Are you using Sony lenses or another brand? My are sony e mounts and are working fine.

Just be glad that it's working again. If I ever go in for surgery, I won't want to see a detailed video of the procedure - just a good result.
Same thing is going on with my Sony NEX 6. Sony didn't fix it and problem still exists. Every time I need to take a quick shot it doesn't recognize the lens is attached. Removing the battery and replacing it gives it a one time fix.
What happens when you try to take a picture if the camera doesn't recognize the lens. While it still take a picture? I am sort of wondering if the Release Without Lens selection is turned on.

Well, it could be the firmware if it is doing it on other Sony lenses. Other brands of lenses made for Sony should not be a problem either. It is when you are adapting A Nikon or Canon lens to your E mount that the symptoms could be an issue. This is not the case here. Sony will clean the contacts on the camera. This is where the fault will lay if it is doing this on multiple lenses.
Just realized if you are talking about the Sony 50/1.8 O.S.S. lens, it does require a firmware update. Perhaps that is what Sony did for you. At least it now works. Wonderful lens BTW.
I have Sony lens and the real issue is Sony cannot fix the problem. Intermittent problem is hard to fix. My car has a major problem but when I take it to the garage everything ok and they have no fix.Same scenario.

Perhaps it is time to ask for a replacement, assuming it is under warranty.
Make sure you have the latest firmware updates for you A6000.
Sony lenses do also have specific firmware updates for some lenses.
Make sure you battery is fully charged.
Make sure that the mount on you camera body and your lenses are clean and make good contact with each other.
I have and use the Sony A6000 several times a week and havd never experienced this type of problem.
In the meantime have you looked on the Sony users webpage to see if anyone else has experienced the same symptoms and whether or not they have a solution
