This is my Greyhound Pride this morning walk at sunrise, I just received a lens that I bought on eBay for $300. This is a lens from the 1990s and a fine lens, so far I am very with it. It is a straight 2.8 35-70mm, it will find it's new home on my Nikon D700! Always ready as a back up! this photo is in vibrant color setting, the light is reflected from a glass building about 3 blocks away.
Pride sunrise first photos
I recently bought this same lens because my 24-70 f2.8 was just too big and heavy to use around my family and friends. And like you, I think it is a fantastic little jewel that captures great pictures. Very nice shot.
Yes it is heavy, but the price was Right? Sometimes I would rather use this instead of my $2000 24-70. In the elements

Yes, vibrant colors. Greyhounds are so cool. A bit funny looking with their adaptations for speed. Always glad to see them kept as pets. Sighthounds are really unique breeds of dogs. I have a couple Scenthounds: an American Foxhound and a Treeing Walker Coonhound - Bloodhound mix. Massively affectionate but they are too smart and get in to everything. A lot of work.
Nice lens find on ebay. I've bought quite a bit of used photo equipment on ebay. A Pentax K-5 camera, a number of vintage lenses: Pentax 28mm, 50mm, 135mm, 19mm, 24mm, 40-80mm Zoom, 18-55mm Zoom. Some lenses as low as $25! I also bought an older K-100D for conversion to Infrared. Plus a new Pentax DA* f/2.8 16-50mm Zoom, and DA f/2.8 35mm Limited Macro lens, a really old (1950-1960's?) Folding Wooden 4x5" Field Camera. This is but some of the goodies I've gotten on ebay.

Yes, I paid about what you did for one in excellent condition from a member here on UHH. I like using this one a lot more than the 24-70, it hangs a lot better around my neck on the straps. I wish I had only bought the 35-70 now that I have it, my 24-70 hasn't come out of my drawer since I bought this one! Great little lens, built very well, kind of heavy, but fast, sharp, and focuses well even when the light isn't that great.
What are your dogs names? Mine are Sally (pictured) and Cooper. Neither name chosen by us. They came with those names from shelters.
