My Day on The Blue Ridge Parkway: Duggers Creek Trail

My day on the parkway started at Linville Falls parking lot and, having never been on it before, I decided to take the Duggers Creek Trail first. I loved it--nothing grandiose, just a shaded leaf-strewn stream with a modest waterfall hiding in the shadows. But the lighting offered an intimacy that the much better known Linville Falls cannot.

Glad you see it too, Bob! There is something about the picture with the corded tree roots wrapped around the rock that reminds me of old-world landscape paintings. I find myself drawn towards low-light images for that reason, I guess.

Thanks, Kingmapix--I would have loved to have had a fellow photographer along! Perhaps you'll venture up to Page, Zion, or Valley of Fire next spring and join me and my travel buddy for a meet-up. So much beautiful scenery to enjoy all along that Southwest route!

This is really beautiful. I can see why you enjoyed it. I will have to get out that way at some point to make this trip on the Parkway.
