Tamron 200-500 lens

Hi group,
I stumbled across this lens on eBay for about $400.00 and wondered if any of you are using it? The price seems too good to be true. I "Googled" it and found it was a fairly sharp lens from 200-400 but a little soft from 400-500. Is it a fairly good lens or a waste of money?

For that price not bad at all I had it for a while before the new model came out, no IS, here's an image with it
