Has anyone used a Fat Gecko camera mount mounted to their windshield and if so how much room did you have from the mounting threads to the windshield? I want to use it for mounting a hi-def video camera or a Nikon D5100 to the wind shield of a C6 Corvette and I am concerned I cant get enough room for the camera. All the pictures I have seen show a point and shoot.

I would stick with the tried and true camera mount fastened to a roll bar.
