7DII and Tamron 150-600 Birds (not egrets on this post)

I decided to take the 7DII back to the Riverwalk with the Tamron again.
Well, right off the bat I forgot I had been experimenting with Stacking and had put the ISO on 100 instead of Auto.
Well it was sunny so I set my shutter for 1250 to get the birds if they were flying. Set aperture for f/8.0 and didn't give ISO a thought since my default for it is A. When out in bright light I never bother to look at the screen after a shot, I can't see it anyway.
Was standing in the shade and glanced at the screen after a shot and saw it was almost solid black. What the.....%#^*&@! Checked my settings: Manual-check, 1/1250-check, f/8.0-check, ISO A-NO is was 100. And I had done a bit more than 100 frames including a couple of birds I have never or seldom photograped at Riverwalk. A Green Heron, got some of him again later and some were salvagable in LR; a King Fisher, a couple of them came out acceptable in LR but he vanished and I didn't get any more. Set ISO to A and continued. Then I saw a bunch of very little birds and one slightly larger one flitting from place to place, the tiny ones (I think they were Wrens of some type.) vanished before I could turn the camera on them. The larger one perched on two different sprinkler heads long enough for me to get 8-10 frames, two of which had his head turned to catch the light on his eye and the focus was good, not perfect, but good. Haven't ID'd him yet, so feel free to help me stay lazy and ID him.
All PP is LR CC/6.2 only. Which by the way is acting up, freezes, goes not responsive, loads image verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyy slow etc. Starts with update the first of the week.

If interested here are the OOCs of the Kingfisher and the first Green Heron when the ISO was set on 100. Both are out in full sun light. The shots in shade or reflected sun light were of course worse. A sample is attached also. OOC and after PP This is an egret, sorry if I turned my title into a fib.
