I think it is very unique and like it. Not a big fan of the first one.......maybe if the web was more transparent, but love the owl.

That's a good name you've coined for them. These are unique, creative, and make me stop and try to deconstruct them. I like the first one best, because the web seems to fit so nicely into the structure with the dewdrops like little lights in the "ceiling". Is there a third photo in there or were the flowers in the spider picture to start with?

The colors are really lovely in both.

RiverNan Their not weird at all actually sort of OK.
If your a Photoshop user have you tried merging the images in HDR pro and exporting them as a 32 bit Tiff WITHOUT TONEMAPPING them? Open the Exported Tiff in Camera raw and treat as you normally would. The originals and the merged image can then be stacked in layers and blend modes and layer masks applied.
If your a Lightroom user dump it pronto and get Photoshop
There is good potential here
Your post is nice but more can be got out of it Im sure. If your 100% content and happy ignore above lol.

I was actually trying to get a shot of the hummer in the rain who visits to sip the honeysuckle...but I missed it. Instead the spider appeared on the web which was spun on the honeysuckle...Both of these images are two shots layered with opacity adjustments.
As always, I appreciate your thoughts...I did the web and pagoda ceiling first...they were actually on the same card, which made it easy to visualize.
I kinda saw the owl in the bridge pic...then remembered I had an owl...and had to figure out how to flip it to be looking in the right direction to fit the eyes into the bridge openinings. Maybe now MY EYES, will be more open to these kinds of things for alas, where DO the architects get THEIR ideas?

I'm thinking "OK" is pretty good coming from you...
meanwhile..you are way ahead of me.
I have elements 13
somewhere on a disc that has yet to be loaded on this computer I have CS3
And I do have lightroom5...brand new with this new system...
but I don't fool around much with hdr, and I have not explored RAW at all...
If you knew me when I first started on UHH, you would know that it took me quite a while to get over my photoshop phobia...
ill be bored soon with elements 13 at which time I will load up the CS3
then I just need to call up my courage and try RAW
if you want to advise me feel free, if you want me to take your advice, better figure out where I am now...and take some little itty bitty baby steps of instruction to move me forward. I do appreciate good advice if I understand it.

Look under Enhance>Photomerge and play in that playground. Can assure you you will get more interesting results than you are at present.
Just save or export it as soon as the option is available. This IS NOT HDR OK. Its using software that CAN do hdr to produce what you would refer to as art. Its really worth the time to experiment and play with it if you like this combined image look. Knocks what you have done here into touch gal and its easy.
From one artist to another lol. Been told we have to have a barn to be an artist. Contact St3v3M for further advice on that one!

When merging Jpegs are fine no need for Raw

This is just two snaps taken almost at random from a file and merged then stacked on top of each other with merge and blend modes played with. Colours can be changed in many ways to get the brownish look I ended up with.
You may hate it but its just to show how merging actually can give you control about what you put nto the mix that makes the final image.

Which only leaves us the dilemma of, is it Billyart!!!!

Wonderfully imaginative RiverNan. It's fun to watch people who have the technical expertise realize their visions in a digital image.

seems like a lot of work...
ill play around some and see what I can learn.
so far I was unable to merge my dogs face and my own.

meanwhile I should tell you that I visited
the New York Public Library today and had the pleasure of a docent tour of the libraries collection of photographs.
http://www.nypl.org/events/programs/2015/10/06/docent-led-tour-public-eye
I asked the docent about photography and the consensus of thought regarding it as an art.
I have decided that you are kidding me...

I can assure you its not a lot of work. The merge I posted here took less than 15 minutes to locate pics and work em to completed result.
Art can be time consuming you know. Michelangelo took two years to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel working 7 days a week with assistants.
A dog and human would make a great merged subject. Contact me if ya get stuck OK.

And ol' Billy kid anyone? As if he would..........................................
