Nikon Teleconverter will not mount to my Sigma 150-600S

The tele is an AF-S TC-17EII but it will not mount to the sigma.
I can mount the Sigma APO Tele 2x EXDG but would rather not use an f stop f13

Am I doing something wrong?

NO NO NO don't even try you will damage both lenses.
The Nikon TC is ONLY to be used on most f/2.8 or greater lenses.

Thanks - I thought something was not right. And as with all camera gear - I never force anything. No camera equipment is designed to be forced!!

Not quite accurate. Nikon TCs will work with Nikon f4 lenses with auto-focus limitations. Nikon TCs, to the best of my knowledge will not attach to other manufacturer's lenses. Even if you could get the TC attached to you f5 Sigma you would have little or no AF capability. Here is Nikon's TC Compatibility chart: http://www.nikonusa.com/en_INC/IMG/Assets/Common-Assets/Images/Teleconverter-Compatibility/EN_Comp_chart.html

Yes this is the chart I was looking for and could not find.

No you are not. Nikon uses a lockout tab to prevent mounting their TC's on incompatible lenses. Sigma makes a 1.4x TC that is FULLY compatible with your lens.

Yes you can, but you have to modify the TC
I did it in the TC-20Eii and works fine (manual focus only) on my Sigma 150 600 OS

I hope you can reinstall that tab before you sell it.

No matter it can be mounted or not, those slow big zoom lenses are no good for using with any tele-converter.

The best way to effectively increase the focal length of the Sigma 150-600S is to attach it to a crop sensor camera such as the 7200D.
