Is the D750 an orphan?

I just heard yesterday that Nikon has stopped shipping the D750 to retailers. I'm tempted to use an old quote here "Say it ain't so Joe". Has anyone else heard anything about this? Are they planning on replacing it with a newer model or did they just not sell enough of them?

The D400 sounds more interesting to me.

Given that the D750 is barely a year old I seriously doubt there is a replacement coming very soon. And shipments have still been regular, but demand is still very high for this model.

The link mentions a successor to the D400. Kinda hard to have a successor to a non-existent camera.

Nikon dropped the price of the D750 - and also the D810. Even if they stop production, your D750 (and mine) will continue working just fine.)

The D750 is one of the best Nikons out of the box ever made. Has the same focusing system as the D4s. Nikon is selling this camera in great numbers. You have to ask yourself the following question. " I own a manufacturing company, one of my best products is selling well, gee, lets pull it off the market." Doesn't this sound a little strange to you. Please don't be like the blonde that says, "I read it on the internet so it must be true."

I Love My D750, if there is an upgrade it could be more WiFi friendly

Where did you hear this? Who or what was the source of this statement?

It would seem that all three models that Nikon has in this market, the D610, D750, and D810 each have something different to offer. So eventually there will probably be similar "D620", "D760" and "D820" models.
