A rather long article, but very interesting and full of info...

Aw Mike, now you have gone and done it. You said it was a rather long article, so that in itself will preclude most of our liberal friends from even reading it!

That is what the Dems want for all Americans and they do not like reading it until it's pasted if then.

Of course you will not read it, the answer to your question is "The Living Nightmare of Socialized Medicine"

I think there's a lot of paranoia and hysteria in the US press about this.
In July 2011, The Investor's Business Daily, wrote:
"People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn't have a chance in the U.K., where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless."
Stephen Hawking said:
"I wouldn't be here today if it were not for the NHS, I have received a large amount of high-quality treatment without which I would not have survived."

You know Mr. Wellheim I have noticed you are quite active here on the forum regarding American politics and social issues.
My question to you is; why do you seem so adamant in inserting yourself in our issues, when you have a plethora of problems plaguing the UK? Isn't there a site over there that would be more receptive to your insights and thoughts concerning these types of issues? I do realize it's fully within your rights to comment on this forum, but frankly I don't see the point.

The point is, whatever happens in America tends to affect the rest of the world. It's worrying that so many of you seem to have such extremist views. As these views are largely based on things that America has no experience in, it may help to have some input from someone who can see the situation from outside.

I should also mention, I don't often get involved in discussions about American politics. Social issues are a different matter, there aren't any exclusively American social issues. In answer to your question, yes there probably are forums that are exclusively British. There are probably forums that are exclusively American, or muslim, or christian, or right wing, or left wing, or gay, or any other group you may want to mention. But why limit yourself to who's opinions you listen to?
