Having trouble with Lightroom 6

I am having trouble with LR 6. After I upload the pictures and look at them in the library when I click to open the pic larger a lot of time it comes in clear and sharp and the starts uploading and focusing and the pic is out of focus. This has happened on pics that have been in focus and reopen later and are not in focus. Has anyone else had this problem?

If you have a graphics card, turn it off in Edit > Preferences > Performance tab.

This may solve the problem.

Do they stay out of focus or eventually pop into focus? I've noticed that, depending on the computer's specs, it can take a while during the loading process for the shots to look as they should.

It stays out of focus, and after looking at a picture that has been in focus and you reopen it sometimes it will not come into focus.

Symptomatic of not enough 'oomph' in your computer. Used to use an older laptop with only 4 gigs of ram and pix would take forever to 'pop' into focus. Now use a laptop with a bit more of everything and pix focus is almost instantaneous when opening.

More information about your computer processor and specifications are needed. LR, or any program for that matter does not alter focus on a photo. Unless of course you add a blur filter or something like that in PS.

I think the size of the file would also make a difference. When I open a 24MP raw image in LR6, it takes a few seconds to get a sharp image. I'm using a Core i7 Dell with 16GB of memory.

No doubt that file size can be an issue with speed of opening, especially when processing 200+meg tiff files from Photomatix....😎

Are these files that were imported a while ago? It may be you have set to remove your previews after a specified time period, and they have to be rebuilt on the fly.

It also matters which preview you do when you import your photos. The more minimal your preview, the longer it takes to build a new one on the fly. I like to build 1to1 previews, and have them removed after a month.

The other thing I would say is look at your history panel in the develop module, perhaps you have a preset that is accidentally changing detail or some other setting that is causing the loss of clarity. But this sounds more like a preview issue.

i have the slow to focus while loading problem in lr6. it started recently. i have 8 g ram, so i should not have a memory problem.

i have also recently started seeing another odd issue -- somewhere in the middle of a set of 20 to 30 pix, when i go to export, i see the wrong file name in that field under the photo so i type in the wrong name for the export name. this happens around the 15th photo in the set.

Slow focus could be a resource issue or it could be a preview issue. Start another thread with your computer details and the exact issue. Also include a screenshot, because I don't understand what you are saying about having the wrong filename, so you go in and type in the wrong filename. Sounds like you are saying two wrongs make it right!

Probably a slow processor and he's not giving it enough time to render the picture.
