After driving about 30 miles to get out of the light for the Supermoon, I got hit with high wispy clouds. Made for some interesting shots but not the Super Blood Moon I wanted. Just about the time I was wrapping it up, my wife called and said it was almost perfectly clear at home and she had a great view. By the time I got back the total eclipse was ending and the moon was showing up bright. I had a Tamron 200-500 on my camera. With the crop factor and the A77's ability to double the focal length I have about a 1600 mm capability. Shot this hand held from my front porch. Made about a dozen shots and all but two were as clear as this. Only had to skip two heartbeats to get it. Hope you enjoy.

Interesting and cool, your fist one there looks other worldly, like the moon of another planet.

Thank you. Conditions weren't the best but better than a lot of people who weren't able to shoot for the clouds.
