Took some shots recently of those 3 water birds. The Anhinga did such a nice pose and the feathers of the Wood stork were blowing in the wind. I see them all the time at the lake or pond fishing, I didn't have enough time to hang around and wait til they caught one.

Very nice shots. Love the pose of the anhinga.

Nice set Lilo:thumbup: we are fortunate to have such a wide variety of birds native to Florida and many more transients passing through on their annual migrations. Right now seeing lots of Canada's and being near the ocean when it storms to the East the shore birds head inland.

Thank you! Yes we are fortunate indeed. I found a gem of a Park right down the street from my house, There are a ton of small birds, including warblers. I go there all the time. The annual migrations is starting, looking so much forward to that. I don't know what location in Florida you reside, but I can recommend Orlando Wetlands in Christmas,Fl. on HWY 50. One of my favorite places, you will find lots of beautiful birds there including otters. Well worth a trip if you don't live to far.

Live South of Jacksonville in Orange Park, my Grandson is a freshman at the University of Tampa. Have you been to the butterfly house at the U of F in Gainesville? We get around FL quite a bit. We live on a golf course with a pond out back and get most of the birds on the list including Osprey, Eagle, Kingfishers .

I have not been to the butterfly house it is on my list. I been to the Bat Festival from the U of Gainesville. They show some huge fruit bats, but it is hard to get pictures of them, they are behind cages. If you ever come this way go to the Wetlands Park. It is closed from Nov. through the end of February, since it is owned privately.
