Canon T3i, Canon EF-S 18-135 mm lens. Thanks for viewing!

Photo #3:
Rimrock Lake is a storage reservoir for irrigation, and part of the Yakima Project. This time of year the water is often very low. Located in the Wenatchee National Forest at 2,922 feet elevation (at the spillway), open to fishing year-round.

“Nearly one-half million acres of sage-covered lands have been transformed into one of the richest agricultural areas in the Nation. Yakima County ranks first among all counties of the United States in the production of apples, mint, and hops. Principal crops are fruit, vegetables, forage, hops, and mint.”

Seriously cool cloud on that volcano! Love the shots, Linda. Third one's a beauty, too, love the effect, but no cool cloud, lol. Great work once again!

Very nice shots Linda !! The cloud around Mt. Rainier is extraordinary ! How often does that happen? Your reservoir photo reminds me of one that serves farmers/ranchers downstream in our area. This year....almost empty !!

Thank you, Dennis! So glad you enjoyed. From Yakima we only get a glimpse of Mt Rainier so I can't say how often the lenticular clouds form. Each trip up there is a surprise - sometimes she doesn't show her beautiful face at all :)

I do have a photo from last fall, different location, of another beautiful cap cloud. And one in early summer I witnessed starting to form, but it dissipated quickly.

Thank you very much, Geoff! The air was quite clear for all the forest fires that have devastated the northwest this summer.

Thank you!

And the forecast for winter doesn't inspire confidence in next year's snow pack for irrigation...
