I received my new Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR Lens today and took it out for a few quick test shots. I was using the Nikon TC-14E II to extend the reach with a D7200 body. These images are of our local eagle's nest at a distance or around 200 yards.. The first image is off a tripod, the second one is hand held. I am both pleased with the image quality and surprised by the ability to hand hold a shot with such a long focal length. I'm glad I got my order in early, I bet this will be a hard lens to find for a couple of years at least.

I'm sold , so far it beats any sigma or tamron all to hell , look at the colors and tonal value it has those two lenses beat in spades .

Super!

I'm excited now.

I am on the list at Adorama but they don't predict when they might have one to ship. Who did you get yours from?

Hopefully that means Adorama is getting some also. I don't have a clue as to how Nikon doles out new high demand product.

Now all we need is an eagle. The lens is doing great.

The eagles have been nesting here in one of our city parks for about eight years. When they have eggs/hatchlings at least one parent is at the nest constantly (from March to June). Now I'm really looking forward to next Spring.

I'm not on any list and I can buy four right now from two London drug stores . Near where I live for $1565 something . It was $100 off from list
Price they said . But I'll have to sell something or get a divorce .
