Nope and no and a definite no. Photo manipulation. I do loads of it fella and would never ask the question.
Art fires the imagination the best a photo manipulation can achieve is "I wonder how they did that". Shows our skills at photoshopping thats all.

I think they are all creative and interesting images. Since we all have our own definitions and can agree to disagree, I will confess that my own definition has to do with "feel", a horribly vague name for something. And based on my absurd explanation, I will pronounce #3 as art. It "feels" sculpted, not cast.

The other two actually hold my eye longer trying to make them out, but the third is the one I'd like in a frame.

#2 I would consider a fun photo, #1 I would consider a fine photograph, thought out and composed...makes me think of the struggles of mankind reaching for the answer, #3 I would consider art in that I can lose myself in it with different feelings and it holds me longer than the other 2! But again, art to me is what I feel art to be, not what someone else deems art to be. Good job Nan!

and second of all isn't "wonder" pretty much the same as imagination? I think we will be in perpetual disagreement over this topic of photography being an art or not.

Bob...I'm with you on #2 which was indeed made just for fun. #1 in my mind was more about the hand reaching down to offer help on the way up. But I like your interpretation. And I think ill have to flip it and have a look.

When you reach my age the knees constantly ache, the eye guy tells ya you have cataracts on the horizon, you go bald,ya teeth get loose and Viagra becomes a waste of money its an easy and hopefully forgivable mistake. Happened once before in a cat house in Thailand and that gal was embarrassing lol

We will not be in perpetual disagreement gal, you just have not seen the light yet! Owning a camera does not an artist make and a few pixel manipulations certainly does not make art.
I have saved you a berth on the other side in a land known as Realitysville. Its full of peace and tranquility with no one trying to BS anyone else that what they stir up out of Photoshop is art and that they indeed are an artist.
