Welcome to Day 98 :) Today is Story Telling Saturday on our dedicated challenge month.
My story is kind of long .. hope you don't mind .. but I wanted to take you on a tour of the Arboretum.
Nan ... no pp on any of these :) except the greenhouse which is a pano (had to stitch them hehe)
BEAUTIFUL pictures, that felt like I was there and I wanna be there, how close is this to your house and not one other person in the photos, thats nice. Probably can't take the trip in aug. too hot?

Looks like an all dayer to me! Nice trip and great pics.
Thank you for sharing this. Living across the US, I've never seen a high rise....much less one in progress! Great perspective...love the tulips.

Holy Arboretum....Sherry NOT TOO LONG...perfect....felt like I was on the walk..wish I was. You are lucky to have this beautiful place...NO PP...GREAT...and all beautiful.
The green house is amazing and i saw the ugly hedgehog cacti.
Fstop...your affinity for the birds really shines through...you must have tons and tons of patience.
my story is a bit long, too...go figure. Not nature...but big city.
This story starts right here with the UHH...I know it is going to sound crazy and I can hardly believe it myself but well...do to my participation on this forum I got an invite I could not refuse, and took myself to NYC April 2, 2012

Goddess...you are welcome and thank you for your comment.
havent you ever been to San Francisco? Pretty sure there are some tall ones there...
I have been to many a city...with hopefully many more to go...but I have never been anywhere quite like NYC. I am just lucky to live close enough to hop on a train and get there in a little over an hour.
Day 98.
I went to a small hydroelectric dam near me late yesterday afternoon.
With tougher security since 9/11 they dispatched a county deputy to check me out. He was real nice just wanted to check me out.
A view from road to the dam/lake side
A view from road to the dam/lake side
Going across the dam
One on several overflow gates when the water get too high in the lake
A hydro turbine blade on display.
Birds waiting for a meal on the down river side.
Pano of the down river/back side.
Water that was used for boating, fishing, power and habitat for various wildlife now heads on down river for another use elsewhere.
HOW TO GET 8 FLAT TIRES...ALL AT ONCE.
The Plan: Load #1 on #2 (humm, I already see a problem)
The Problem: Okay, now the truck can't pull the trailer.
Number One Son is "helping"...sure talking on the phone to his wife is a lot of help. But we did persuade him to go get this tractor and put us up to the road. (Problem must be the soft, wet ground..can't get any traction)...silly us.
Well, now the problem becomes very clear...hollow tires vs a zillion pound cat!
When it loaded, it broke the seals on all eight tires. It was pretty funny. (We have a service truck with a compressor, so it wasn't too big of a deal..weather was nice..finally...so we just enjoyed the time outside.
End of story. Couldn't get 2 of tires to take air, so just drove off with them flat and got 3 more flats on the way to it's destination..about 4 miles away>
WEll...living out there in the middle of US must give you one great big sense of humor....I dont even like getting one flat.
Tooth that is pretty cool...what is the name of the dam and what is the name of the body of water? I want to look it up.
Not the same!!! NYC would be an amazing place to visit...i

Well, we not in the middle..we are in the Pacific Northwest...about 20 miles South of the Oregon border...in the middle of nowhere. Might as well have a sense of humor...because it's always something.
Today we're bootlegging two sections of a mobile home..that'll be another story, I'm sure.

Thank you.
I would have thought that many tires would distribute the load. That must be one HEAVY dozer!!!
