You might try to see if there is a meetup group for photographers in your area. Meetup.com is one of the few social networking sites that I like. (Of course, UHH is another!)

Cryppy - there are a few Hoggers in downeast Maine. People answering your question here don't quite understand that although you live in a relatively civilized part of the state, you are still 20 miles or more from the nearest traffic light, and the majority of people around you do not even use the internet! There used to be a Ritz Camera Store as I recall in Ellsworth many years ago, but I don't even know if there is a real camera store (Best Buy does NOT count) in Bangor these days. And I escaped downeast Maine after our ten feet of snow last year and now live once again in Florida.

Thanks for the response sb. No Ritz in Ellsworth now and, unfortunately, Bangor Photo (the very popular store) closed a couple years ago. I thought the Bangor Photo club folded its tent also but someone sent me a link to their site yesterday. That's a possibility for me, but I'm really interested in finding a person or two who are savvy about cameras, lenses and Light Room, and who wouldn't mind spending some time with me without charging me. I don't blame you for moving back to FL. We're heading for Arizona this winter. Thanks again for the message.

Right! Meetup.com offers everything from Ardvark study groups to Zylophone enthusiasts. I've go to several, and some are better than others.

It's actually spelt Xylophone... For your purposes, you need Zoology or Zebra-watching!
