this seems crazy to me
Long-time Nikon photog
I have a used Em5 that works very well, except when I mount the FLL 40 Oly flash on the camera, it often underexposes in TTL mode, approx 1 2/3 stop. Why? TTL means through the lens, not too little light?!?!?! Almost as if the function does not exist and the flash is choosing manual on its own, very strange. Are all OM flashes this bad???
the FLL 40 design was approx 1999, maybe that is the reason. Anyone?
How powerful is that flash?? It's not the top of their line.
No. Guide number 40 at is 100. But none of the shots were over 20 feet. Most were bounced. I am mystified because this does not happen with my Nikon equip unless the batteries are weak
You have to figure when bouncing the distance 1. light to wall or ceiling and 2 distance from that surface to subject.
I was able to reach an OM tech person. He said that this flash will not work TTL with the Em5. Therefore, I get the flash to fire, but there is no TTL signal Have to go with a 600 flash
