Please go back and read my question. Am I not seeing the light correctly, or is this normal? The answer is__ "this is normal". I do very little in PP at this time. I am thinking of taking a class to learn Elements 10 for future use. I will then also shoot in RAW and will be able to correct this problem. Thank you for the assistance.

MT Shooter actually answered your question in the best way possible: it's impossible to say whether or not this is "normal" without knowing the focal length you were shooting at. If you were at the 18mm (wide angle) end of the lens-- then yes your results are probably what you can expect under similar conditions with a CP. BUT, it's important to understand what you were trying to accomplish AND why your results happened. If your intent was only to shoot clouds and sky with a dramatic / high contrast image as a result with a wide angle lens-- then there are other ways to accomplish this. If you wish to reduce the reflections in water/reduce glare on reflective objects AND include the aforementioned cloud/sky element, then the CP is your best option.

MT Shooter did answer the question and I was experminting. The answer he gave me was enough explanation for I was doing. I don't want to sound rude but that was all I needed to know for that situation. I can now use that to its best advantage in other situations i.e. senic views with light sky and darker below the horizen. I understand more about CP than when I ask and that is all anyone can expect when asking a question.
