Lightroom Confusion

I have two icons on my computer for Lightroom. One says "Adobe photoshop Lightroom 5" Version 5.7.1 / camera Raw 8.7.1. The other "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC" 2015 1.1 / Camera Raw 9.1.1.
Catalogs seem different. Which should I keep and use ?

You must have upgraded to Lightroom CC from LR 5.7 and now have a monthly subscription. You do not need to keep LR 5.7 nor the catalogue associated with it. When you went with LR CC your catalogue was upgraded also. Don't forget to regularly back up both the catalogue AND your photo library!

Same thing happened to me. I just removed the icon from my desktop for version 5.7 and kept the program just in case Lightroom CC was buggy. It works fine and now I've removed the older version completely to free up the space. Good luck!

Before going crazy make sure that any images in the LR 5.7 library also exist in the LR 2015 CC library.
Then you can uninstall the LR 5.7 files and folders, again being sure that you are not deleting the actual images.
Whenever I am doing this sort of thing, I make sure to keep a copy of any images on an external drive until I am satisfied that I haven't lost anything.

Yes, if you did anything with the 5.7 version after installing and opening the upgrade those changes will not be in the CC catalog.
I had that problem with my Lightroom 6 upgrade. I was wondering where my last import had gone. Turned out the upgrade had not changed the icon on the widows 8 page but did on the desktop. Neither said what was till opened.
