Luang Prabang, Laos.
Luang Prabang, Laos, remains a center for Buddhism with multiple monasteries found throughout the city. A monk is defined as a man in a religious order who lives a life of poverty, chastity, and obedience. In principle, these monks do not own property, either individually or collectively, and have taken a vow of poverty. He may be a person who decided to dedicate his life to serving others, or to be an ascetic who voluntarily chooses to live his life in prayer and contemplation. It is common for boys to spend time living in a monastery. Most stay for only a few years and then leave, but a number continue on in the ascetic life for the rest of their lives . The local people provide food daily for the monks, although the monks are not permitted to ask for anything. I decided to photograph them during their daily dawn walk to collect food offerings from the local populace.

Thanks. You'll have a great trip!
These are amazing and beautiful photos, Redrock51! I notice dogs in some of the pictures; are there lots of strays there?

No. The dogs appear to be best friends in the monk's community. They "walk the walk" with them at dawn, then return to the temples and disappear for the day.
