Sony A6000 vs Canon Rebel T6S

Hi folks. Anyone have an opinion on the quality of a Canon Rebel T6s as compared to the Sony A6000 or the Nikon D5500? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks in advance for your input.

Beyond that gets into very subjective territory, but you should be focused on what your intended use is for the camera. Another approach that many find helpful is renting cameras/lenses from a company such as LensRental.com and trying them first hand. Not free, but much cheaper than buying the 'wrong ' camera for your purpose.

I have Nikon and Sony and shoot with both. They both produce quality images and Im sure the Canon does too. Quality depends a lot on the photographer rather than the camera. Now if you want equipment that is good in low light, low noise, high ISO, mirroless....then that is easy to compare looking at the specs of the camera. If you want light weight, easy to travel with....Sony wins hands down. For me, I find I am using my Sony a6000 over my full frame Nikon more and more.

I am familiar with both cameras and like both of them but I was surprised to see the Nikon chosen the winner over the Sony since the Sony has so many desireable features that are missing on the Nikon. Plus it's mirrorless and easier to carry around due to its size. Either way both are great cameras.
Rumour has it that we're very close to seeing the A6000 replaced by the A61000 and the A7000 so it might be wise to wait and see those cameras before deciding what to buy.

I have an a6000 and it's wonderful. Now having said that, if you get a Nikon or canon dslr there is a wide range of accessories available for it with out using adapters or workarounds.

I love my Sony 6000 in terms of both image quality and camera build, but I agree with djraywallace, when attempting to compare two cameras that are so different, it helps to "take them for a test drive." Many people have posted here that they did not like the feel of the 6000-- mostly men who said it felt too small for their hands.
After you have read all the reviews and the comparisons, try to find a way to hold the physical cameras before buying.
