Coming to America......
I finally heard back from my "NYC denizen" friend on his recommendations for 1st-time visit "photo places."
He is NOT a photographer - but knows the city well.
Here they are - have fun! - no matter where you shoot:
#1. Frick Museum - 5th Avenue at 70th Street
#2. Rockefeller Center-- 5th &
50th. Street
Which puts you across from
#3. St. Patrick 's Catherdal
Also
the Rainbow Room at 65 Rock
has a great terrace/ rooftop bar w fantastic views.
#4. Staten Island Ferry --- at
South Ferry #1 Subway stop is a great view of city & harbor + boat ride for CHEAP
#5. Riverside Park -- 100th street to enter and walk North to Grant 's Tomb
Then
Dinosaur BBQ
And
Washington Square Park
Fifth Avenue & 8th Street
To
Greenwich Village
To
SoHo
Go South on Broadway
To
Chinatown
All above especially during Pope's visit

Thanks to all for your kind words about both B&H Photo and me. For the record, our store address is 420 - 9th Avenue which is the the entire block between 33rd and 34th Streets on 9th Avenue.
As we have several extended holiday closings this time of year it would be wise to check our Schedule of operations here before planning a visit:
