In the garden last night.

It seems that shooting the sky at night is getting popular. Went out to give it a try. Not having a starting point it took a while before anything showed up. This has been the first nights that were clear for a long while. It is usually foggy. Didn't even know which direction to point the lens. It worked out because there are just two directions not covered with trees.

First try.
First try....

I have to ask "Is that how you see the sky or is it how your camera sees it?' Fabulous shot for your first attempt well done.

I'm going to enjoy this. Photography is my passion since I'm 5yrs old with my first Brownie. I'll be back. Thanks, Marion

That is how the camera sees the sky. My eyes see far fewer stars. It is very dark out here at night, when the moon is missing.

Thanks for the kind words, all.

Yeah I thought so . I live in New Zealand and we do get really clear skies here and I have never seen the Milky Way with my eyes and thought that maybe the camera picks it up.

Stunning image! Very well captured for your first attempt. Beginner's luck? Just kidding...you need to get out in your garden more now (at night). ;-)
