Rockdog, These are all great! I'm drawn to the first one the most. The background and composition is very nice.

Beautiful shots! We have the World Bird Sanctuary near the St. Louis area which is a great place to take pictures. The photo club I belong to has gone there a few times.

Wonderful shots, rockdog! In the first one it looks like he's looking at the nail and kinda disgusted that it's taking up some of "his" space!

Thank you for the visit and the kind words. The first bird was in difficult light and yes, I do think he was giving that nail the "eye". I played with several shots and even removed the nail but that was my favorite.

The nail didn't bother me because the moodiness of the shot and his eyes was captivating.

Hi M.A., thanks for the re-visit. I agree, the nail in the first shot adds to the story, esp. because the bird seems to be expressing an opinion. I thought the nail might be a distraction in some of the shots where the bird was gazing elsewhere. I appreciate your comment.
