Why aren't the current laws regarding gun ownership enforced? Seems to me increasing gun control is like most of the laws passed.....kinda gives you a warm feeling but just further restricts freedoms of law abiding citizens. It's the criminals that don't give a shit. Why aren't you concerned about them?

Do you mean controlling access to Guns to criminals ? If that is the case then all bets are off. A criminal will find a way to arm himself no matter the amount of regulation.

Many guns are sold to criminals by private gun owners. No background check.

Lets agree that a registered Gun owner should be responsible for any crime committed with that gun if he releases control of it to anyone without proper notification to regulating authorities.

Not a bad idea, but the NRA will fight it tooth and nail, as they have any reasonable gun regulations ever since they went off the rails in the '70s.

Please tell use how that would work?

Tell us how you will get their fingerprints and serial# too.

I hope after the bad guys stop laughing, they don't shoot you dead.

Only good people obey the law, any city, any color.

So, because it's hard to do, lets not do anything...
It's a simple thing really. To own a gun or guns you need a federal gun ownership license. Put the database online for public review. Anyone selling a gun can check the license status online in 30 seconds.

Done.

well, as usual you are partly right and partly wrong..

I am not greatly concerned with controlling the Guns that responsible persons have

I am greatly concerned about the 33 (Possibly) guns that were used in these 33 crimes along with doubting that any of these 33 guns are legal and the user has a license to have one..

Which of those two scenario's are you more concerned with..?
